The advantages were:
- Easy location and access, as it was in our college
- Quicker and more
- If we had any difficulties with the equipment we could ask a teacher
- If we needed some advice on the way we were filming we could as a teacher
- As we were inside there was no problem with rain damaging the equipment
- We was able to multi task as there was also editing suites to start looking at our footage and start blogging.
- If we needed more equipment the storage room was right there.
- We had more time to record as we could do it during lesson and after college without moving location.
- No money was spent on bus's or trains
- There was already a lot of equipment in the studio i.e. lightings. That helped us create the scene we wanted.
- There was a computer to play our song (just a little) so our artist was able to lip-sing along to it.
- As there was a computer to play our song, we didn't have to use our phone batteries up.
Disadvantages
- We found it difficult to choose whether the green screen or black back would look better for our music video, so it took up more time trying out practice shots.
- As we ended up using the black back in the studio, there were difficulties in hiding the lining from the black curtains so the camera wouldn't capture it when recording. However if it did it might our music video look less professional.
- We was using the lights in the studio however some of them were not working which meant there might have been some dark parts when recording.
- As we had limited space to record in because of the lining on the curtain, it was hard for us to get our two artists in that small amount of space without crossing the line.
- Even though we were in a dark room with tinted windows, there was still some light in the corners which could have effected the way it looked on camera.
- I brought in strobe lights so we could see how it would look on camera however the light was too small so it did not really show on camera resulting in us not using it. However we can still create the strobe light effect on match-cut pro editing.
